Blackjack is a much-loved game.
So for those who are planning to join online blackjack tournaments, you’d better prepare.
Gear up for a crowded tournament, and as much as possible, rehash all that you know about the
different blackjack moves you can turn to once the tournament is in full swing.
Not all moves are allowed in all blackjack games.
Since there are different variations featured in online blackjack tournaments, the list of moves
you can make depends what kind of blackjack game you are playing.
But as a general list, here are the common moves you can apply in a classic game of blackjack.
Naturally, the first two on the list would be hitting and standing.
These two are moves that are applied in all blackjack games.
As you probably already know, to stand is to stay with your current hand.
You can make this move if you are satisfied with your hand.
For example, your hand is close enough to twenty one, and adding another card can
dangerously send you beyond twenty one. In such cases, better stand with your current hand.
On the other hand, when the total value of your hand is too low, you can decide to hit.
That is, to ask for another card to be dealt, which you will add to your existing hand.
Moving on, another move that you can make in certain blackjack variations is the surrender
option. The surrender option is a very favorable option for blackjack players.
Some blackjack variations or specific games waive the surrender option, but some retains it.
As a rule, it is better to play in a blackjack game that allows the surrender move.
This is because this move gives you a way out of a tight situation, in case you find yourself in one.
To surrender means to give up your cards and get half of your bet in return.
This move can only be made on a hand that is untouched.
That is, make this move before applying any other move on your hand.
Once you hit, or make any other changes to your original hand, you won’t be able to use the surrender card anymore.
The third type of move we’ll talk about is the double down.
This is a very beneficial move if you know how to use it.
To double down is to double your bet in exchange for one card added to your hand.
This move only involves a single card. You cannot add more than one card.
This can only be used on a hand that contains only two cards.
So if you have already hit once and there are already three cards on your hand,
you cannot use this move anymore. This move should be carefully applied.
For example, if you have a hand that has a high potential that can be propelled to a win by the
addition of another card, then raising your bet will be a good idea. That’s where double down comes in.
Aside from that, we also have splitting pairs.
This move is only applicable when the two cards you are given is similar.
In this case, you can split the hand into two separate hands, which you can play separately.
A very useful tip when it comes to split pairs is to split a pair of aces.
This is a very profitable move.
Those are just some of the common moves you will encounter when you plan to join
an online blackjack tournament.
